I am attempting to build my first desktop in over 10years, so far it seems not much has changed but I would like some opinions before I finally order the parts.
Currently I am looking into getting Intel quad core i5, 8gb of ram, and for the video card an EVGA GTX 670 with 2gb of memory.
but it feels a bit to pricey for what I want to spend all in one go. I am an active gamer and like to multitask with mp3s, internets, and videos on vlc while playing...
Would I see a significant performance drop if I got an i3 but doubled the ram? Or got an i7 quad core but reduced the video card to the 660Ti?
Also, if I wanted to only temporarily down grade one part, which would save me the most to upgrade with in a year? GPU or CPU?
