Can I download an Xbox 360 game from internet and use a scratched disc to launch?

I have CoD:MW3 original Xbox DVD; unfortunately it is scratched, and only plays for 2 minutes. I thought that I could search on the internet for a HDD installation and then use the original DVD to launch the game. Will this work?
